Here we were in the early days of digital photography, just at the dawn of it entering the fashion world. In Milan, Fabrizio Ferri's Industria was the hottest fashion photography studio and the only one daring to embrace the digital revolution right from the get go. We were discovering how to work with the new medium, what could be done in "post production" - something that was previously limited to a few retouches in the dark room - and how the role of the photographer needed to include a new awareness and an even stronger vision, so that the "what" and not the "how" would continue to carry the value of the final image.
